  1. I play for completion, never for competition, so I usually just try to finish and collect the chest rewards given. For the Alliance Quest (this one specifically, the Brave and Beautiful), which is more or less just Brave Musketeers 2.0, the mechanics are largely the same, you have to watch out for the auto RIposte / Def buff every few turns while tackling a new batch of bosses. As there is no Elemental Barrier to worry about in AQ, on Epic I pretty much used Boldtusk, Melendor, Grimm, Shar'Khai (damage up), and Chao/Li Xiu. Before getting Shark head, I would probably used Wu Kong for damage up, Proteus for mana control, and instead of Grimm, use WIlbur for Def Buff and damage sharing. However, the misses from Wu Kong and the auto riposte sometimes just happens to sneak in right before my long cascade of tile damages and would end up decimating me instead, which eventually became a turn off. After getting the Shark, I exchanged the higher potential tile damage from Wu for a no-miss, albeit lower damage, attack set with the Shark and used someone else for the yellow spot. For this event, I almost always make sure I have at least one or two shields on the board in case the riposte needed to be dispelled, Melendor also helps with that if that was not possible, it is at least free heal plus dispel until you can generate some shields again. Attack Up from Boldtusk and the Def buffs I get from Melendor (Toon), def down on the offense from Grimm, and damage up from Shar'Khai, and then finally the damage dealer/mana control with Chao/Li Xiu. Compared to my previous setup, I would have had a gap in blue because I bring Wilbur, and would need to totally make sure Proteus mana damage sticks, because Wu Kong is very unpredictable, on good days I might be able to finish off the bosses in one tile cascade upon firing my specials in a specific order. Bad days, they take much longer. I might be able to add more variety to the mix, but I almost always tend to end up choosing the ones that has the higher power level, which by now is mostly the vanillas with multiple costumes.
  2. I think the old SGG form has a reply to each post within a thread so if what you are looking for is to reply to a certain poster's post rather than as a whole, you could just reply to that post, and that way the forum user who got "replied" to could also get a notification that someone has replied to his/her post. Also, believe the old forum has an option in which if a user views for a thread for a certain amount of time, or previously replied to a thread, he/she will automatically be notified of any new activities the thread receives (if I remember correctly). Currently, I don't think we get notified of any new thread activities unless we happen to see it in the new posts notification, or someone might have reacted, or quoted you, or perhaps checking the following the topic.
  3. Cyprian/Boril in red but with additional perks (costume stat boost, family bonus, passive, and attack buff). Playing as a collector of cards, this is the only 4* I am missing from Underwild, with or without costumes.
  4. Season 4 is actually complete too, all 3* - 5* have C1. Head-scratcher for me, if not too obvious Hansel got a costume, but Gretel didn't. G. Jackal got a costume, but G. Falcon didn't. Cheshire Cat got a costume, but Capt. of Diamonds didn't. Merlin got a costume, but Sir Lancelot didn't. Guinevere got a costume, but King Arthur didn't. Bjorn got a costume, but Agnes didn't. Season 2 4* and 5* have C1, was only missing costumes for Gato, Chochin, Namahage, and Muggy, but their co-workers Melia, Mnesseus and GIl-Ra have C1. These are all heroes that were released along the same time. There were efforts for the devs to "catch up" evidence being that costumes to complete the costumes for 4* Atlantis and even Gil-Ra the 3* (circa 2023-2024), but they just keep bypassing the lonely 4 for S2. Season 3 has more missing on both Rares and Epics.
  5. I've always been curious whether the developers ever play the same game as we because some of their actions and decisions just don't seem to make sense (see their actions towards the roster scrolling that occurs between Stronghold and Dragonspire). If they did, they should know by now how much we dislike vanilla heroes, or rather how vanilla heroes without any augmentation (e.g. costumes) are still used as the primary (if not only) source of fillers in summoning portals. Would it hurt so much to "vanilla" at least the S2/S3 heroes? Part of me always wondered if they were trying to do some kind of reverse psychology thing and want us to despise S1 heroes so much, by leaving them lodged inside the portals so we would try to shell out the $ to try to get non vanilla heroes. Yet, the baffling thing is that they kept souping up the S1 heroes by giving them costumes.
  6. If I remember seeing this correctly, come Springvale Squire Wabbit (the very oldest event 3*) is getting suited up, some of the later arrivals like Chick Jr., Lady Woolerton and Sir Roosterly might too. So I am holding a glimmer of hope that some of the ones here may too, one day be remembered, and maybe inserted with some of the more modern abilities to make some drawing in these portals feel a tad more exciting.
  7. Aside from being outdated and that it is not in their priorities (economically) to be done, why do some of the seasonal/event heroes still not have a costume, even when their equivalent counterparts in the same season/event that were released around the same time have them already (and even some of those are considered outdated too)? Season 2 - Gato, Namahage, Chochin, Muggy Season 3 - Agnes, Sudri, An-Windr, Grevle, Jarvur, By-Ulf, Brynhild, Mist, Jott, Shadeweave, Mireweave, Stonecleave Challenge Event - Boomer, Guardian Falcon, Boomer, Captain Kestrel, Captain of Diamonds, King Arthur, Sir Lancelot, Vlad, Jack, Valeria, Gretel, Guardian Bat, Pixie, Treevil, Vodnik, Sally, Guardian Lemur, Gnomer, Phoenicus Shrubbear, Bauchan Three Kingdoms - Xiahou Dun, Sun Xiang Shang I know I missed a bunch, but you get the general idea, over the years some did get "remembered" see Lady Locke, Sargasso, Peters, Oceanus, Tethys, but the ones here continue to get the proverbial shaft but their colleagues in the same release have long gotten their C1 at the very least. It's probably not going to be a very popular question in one of those AMA sessions, but would really like to see these "orphaned" heroes get suited up that were long overdue.
  8. When it comes to HoTM, first one cuts the deepest for me. For me that is Frida, my very first HoTM and one of the first non-vanilla 5* I acquired. She was a premiere HoTM that offered damage, ICE EDD and Dispel in one package. Sure it would have been nice if the Dispel happened before the damage that would have paid dividends when fighting the Ancient Tiger, but that's what the Caltrops are for. As time goes on, her stats are being surpassed and and without costume to suit up to keep updated, the mama bear has generally been long forgotten by the player community as better, stronger options came along. Over the years I have gotten more HoTM, but none of them had the impact that Frida did for me, who I still use to this day and have her pumped to LB2 and I am preparing to have her Emblemed to 25 once I have enough Paladin MB and currently working on a 5* troop to pair with her Paladin class.
  9. We had something similar to our alliance many years ago with our humble free to play alliance. Two came in and immediately tried to establish dominance because they seem to have better rosters and are coming off as experts in war strategies. One thing in common is they are both very impatient when it comes to our slow to react members, but it was also probably because of that, they got fed up after one war where no one seemed to react to them and they both bolted. None of our members back then followed, which is probably what their original goals were, to recruit some of our more powerful members to ditch and follow them. Any way, I wish you the best inf your alliance, and hopefully you were able to get that valuable alliance member that was kicked back, because the damage that did could have been devastating, if it all came down to miscommunication and misunderstanding.
  10. I have wondered on the summoning banner for Legendary Dragon Summon (the one that costs one gold token), why do they have a subtext of "Guaranteed Rare, Epic, or Legendary Dragon" when its purpose was to serve as an alternative portal to the Silver Summon. Silver Summon uses a different set of currency, lower gem costs, and slightly different odds, yes, but features the exact same pool of Dragons as the Legendary Dragon portal that contains no 1* or 2* trainers or other fillers to dilute the pool. So anyone who summons in the Silver Summon will pretty much also guaranteed a Rare, pic or Legendary Dragon. So what exactly is the purpose of the purpose of the verbiage on the Legendary Dragon portal?
  11. Currently at 224 of the 300. Was looking forward to an empty mission log after 300, now it's for me for seeing the 500. The rewards for these are also pretty pitiful. Players can get more gems for watching the Mystic Visions in a day vs. how much times it takes to get 300 dragon summons. Summoning for heroes was tolerable because chances for doing them happens fairly frequently. There is no real push for summoning Dragons simply because the much smaller roster and chances don't happen often enough (waiting for silver coins from daily idle chests, quest every few days, and who knows how long they will delay the release of the last stage of the map, or even if there will be a season 2 for the dragons). The Ancient Dragon quests helps a bit by being more more frequent, but the results are for the most part the same vanilla dragons you get and get so paltry amount of Commendation Points (if Rare). How many of the Ancient Dragons actually look like Dragons? Most of them look like super embellished or mutated insects or animals that don't generate much joy for ownership (at least for me). Dragonspire is really about the Drag-Ons.
  12. Not going to lie, but this will freak me out if I ever go cave exploring. Boots is handsome by comparison.
  13. As one of the talking heads in the E&P storyline, Vivica still seem to take a backseat to Elena and Richard when it comes new contents or social media. It is certainly nice to see more of her, now, if her pet dragon can serve more purpose in the game other than a sign that shows you bought the VIP pass or having a perch in atop stronghold that would be great.
  14. I've always gone for completions as opposed to competition when it comes to events, Brave and Beautiful, being an Alliance Quest, will have an extra incentive when it comes to scoring, hopefully you are in an alliance where there are plenty of finishers to help unlock the tiers. I think most of the heroes on your Epic roster should be able to help you to finish the tier just fine, and your plan of action (baring getting more heroes) is mostly sound. If you can get yourself the Boldtusk costume set during a future costume chamber, leveling up/LB/CSB up to the Toons version helps a ton because of the heal + attack buff and the general resistance to status ailments does help a ton too when trying to keep your heroes alive and cut down usage of restorative items. I also use Wilbur for damage sharing between friends/foe, worked great when they work when I had Wu Kong along, as long as dispel happens first when opponent trigger Riposte (like the Brave and Beautiful stage mechanics). Melendor Toon is great for ailment resistance, bulk heal, def up and dispel. Always good to pop one in if the stage mechanic is active and when you don't have the tile to dispel (or rather have a bunch charged up and hitting one might trigger them all). I use Mel more over Caedmon because you Caedmon will have to hit first before he can dispel and will be less optimal if opponent has counterattack active.
  15. The typical response, when it is non-monetary driven feature that are not high on the priority list to be looked at. First they try to deflection (I don't know what you are trying to say, could you explain better? Even though you already wrote an essay about it), then when you try to put in some screenshots (notice how the response is a bit more careful, but still trying to indicate that they couldn't replicate the problem), and thanks to modern tech advances and conveniences, you can now upload videos to do a step by step. And what do they do? They closed your ticket and gave you a generic response that sounded like sweeping under the rug. Wonderful, now what?
  16. Maybe have to also reduce the quality of the capture in addition to the time just to make sure it can fit within the limit. Good thing this isn't something that happens all the time and not difficult to reproduce. Hope they would come out with some kind of statement acknowledging this behavior. If I remember correctly, wasn't this also a problem in the past before Dragons got implemented? Why is it after Dragonspire arrived, some of the dialogues they put out seem to indicate this was some kind of new behavior that somehow cannot be replicated on their end?
  17. When deciding I had looked at the tier I could land in, roster management, art style and how the hero might benefit my play style. Even though I had enough for a tier 2 pick, I ultimately went with Meresankh and C at 10.
  18. For quick search about Hero cards based on element/abilities/rarity, Empuzzled (link in the top of the forum) provides a very updated, comprehensive and easy to use Hero Database and add in a few search filters to narrow down your search and arrive at your desired results.
  19. We often wondered if the developers even play the same game as we do with some of their decisions. It's great that the selection process (even though still from a pool of pre-diluted candidates) involved the active player community. This was still a great activity because not only do the players have to think for themselves, they also have to be forced to think for the others, and ultimately still arriving at still just picking one based on own needs/capability (or not).
  20. Well, you got my response for this being a problem and a recurring one at that. Although I am generally a little weary of the quality of the in-game support for these mobile games. Seems like most of the time you are being as detailed as possible to try to explain the situation to them, but they just don't get it. Unless you have a good video capturing app on your phone/device that does a step by step walkthrough detailing your point that you can upload/submit, I have a feeling they just aren't trained to follow a step by step with words.
  21. Hey Nevar old friend. Good to see you. As this forum is not really sanctioned or affiliated with E&P, but rather as a Fan-created forum, I believe the bug reports here are going to be related to the bugs in the forum features, not to the game itself. But as to the old scrolling bug when switching between Stronghold and Dragonspire, it is certainly rearing its ugly head once again, and it has been for several updates and revisions and I had no idea if it is even being checked on since I didn't go into Discord when the old forum got wiped. But yeah, every day now it is the same thing, switching between the two bases and providing roster management is kind of annoying, but I am starting to get numb from it as the way the developers treated the bug before seemed to indicate they do not know what we were talking about as they couldn't replicate the behavior (or rather, it was not on their priority list to "get it" and have it resolved).
  22. Thank you for the feedback. To that regard, most of them likely won't, but heroes last forever (even the some of the most sought after ones did not age well and will succumb to age and being replaced). It all depends on playstyle, and when I started this game back in 2017, I've never played it to be competitive, but only the PvE parts and as a Collector of cards. I also play for free, so I won't have most and best of the heroes, I am putting my resources nowadays in fulfilling the collector's purpose in me as opposed to chasing cards (which will most likely end in disappointments from not getting him/her/it and those cards most likely end up being replaced in time).
  23. I had been running Hero Academy 10 since obtaining it a few years ago, with a few breaks in between, it's just a weekly thing to mostly pop in, see the vanilla 5* and most likely send him/her right back in the following week. The breaks were when pick up time coincides with Soul Exchange, and I needed all the heroes (including the one being cooked) to make exchanges. Since then there had been a few changes, and up until the latest change (that I recalled, before the old forum got the axe) was that the 5* heroes there had the list expanded (to include heroes from ### days back) and will include the released costumes if the costume rolls a yes. Since that update, I haven't gotten anything new, not new non S1, and none of the S1 I got back came with any costumes. So since we can't look at the little information "I" icon whenever all the functions are being used, I also don't get to look at these very often. This past week after I picked up another costume-less S1, I decided to pause and check out the other levels and saw that the Rare and Epic trainings have also had similar (heroes from ### days back are also available at the all too familiar 5% rate). I took a break from HA10 and decided to get the ball rolling a bit see if I can pick up a few Epics I missed. Not going to hold my breath for any quick results because it's only 5% non vanilla, and the list is big. Did HA9 (the Epic Troop retrain) get any updates, to include Specialized Epics (Ninja, Magic, Cyclops) as possible re-train results? They are already in the Epic Troop portals. Maybe as I see @ PlayForFun going about his usual forum topic/guide organizations, we might start seeing a guide for this several year old feature?
  24. Game has evolved a lot since its inception and playing for the first time, even without spending seem to have changed a lot as to what's available initially (e.g. events and contents that are available now versus years ago). 1* and 2* heroes will tie you over initially but will become feeders to better heroes that you will eventually get. Sharan the 1* healer and Sha Ji the 2* healer will be your primary source to keep you alive for the time being. Layla the purple 2* and Bane the 3* yellow would likely be your primary damage output for a while, depends on how quickly you acquire heroes of higher rarity. Focus on getting the base infrastructure (buildings and research) updated to keep the constant resources (namely food and iron) to come in, you will need these to craft battle items, upgrade heroes, etc. Even if you manage to get a 5* hero, put him/her on the side as you will not have the resource initially to fully upgrade him/her when just starting. Instead, focus on fielding a full 3* team (they can be fully upgraded with ascension material that can be farmed), followed by a full 4* team. Upgrade your troops as they are like equipped items that will keep your heroes alive. Visit the Empire and Puzzles Webstore daily as you can get free resources with the daily gifts, some of these are summon currencies that can be used in the various summoning portals, which can provide you access to heroes that are more powerful than what you initially have available. Join and alliance when you are able to and help contribute so you can earn additional resources from helping defeat titans and get help from alliance mates. Gems can be spent on a variety of areas. You would need to have some on hand to spend on roster expansion as your hero count goes up. Most importantly they could be saved up for summoning for new heroes (multi-summon helps provide some discount in total gems spent). Don't worry if you can't get very far in the campaigns or beat certain stages initially, it takes time and resources to build up. What's said here is very general and broad, but remember this game is not a sprint, but a marathon. Good luck to you.
  25. I must say it feels familiar and weird at the same time when seeing the forum again, even if it isn't officially supported by SGG. I will most likely continue to use this forum as the bridge towards game contents and its active and vocal players and chime in occasionally as I had done when the old forum was alive. It's good to see some familiar names already here.
