Zyrax
Considering gems, time, ascension materials, XP feeders etc, what’s your preferred level for a Hero Coach candidate?
Habanero
As a F2P, I usually save 1000 gems for upgrading a hero when Hero Coach shows up. I prefer heroes with costumes, so I only have to upgrade their costumes afterwards. This time around, Ginger will be my candidate. I really like her costume's skills. Daemon, Cecilia and Vivica will have to wait in the line or for the next coach to come around. Raffinho
I try to bring those heroes to 3-70, that make sense for me to go the full 90. Starting at 1-1 and paying 1.000 gems hurts a bit, because reaching 3-70 can be done "relatively quickly" ans i need gems für expanding my roster space.
NevarMaor
My goal for hero coach is 3/70. I have been chronically short of Tomes for the entire time I've played the game so saving on having to use one of them is of great importance. I usually have 2-3x as many Blades, and enough of each AM for 3-5 heroes of each colour. But never enough Tomes. Thus Tomes are saved for the newest heroes I have not eligible for coaching. And I am always working on heroes that are eligible. Being a very cheap player I can't be all that picky -- although poor old Isrod has been sitting at 1/1 for 4 years now. At this point I have him as a collectible.
Chadmo
I'm pretty stacked with ascention material. What I do lack is certain aethers, so that's ofter what steers my decision. 4-80 for me but this time I'll be doing a 4-85 due to no Yellow 5 star aethers.
HootingPirate
I voted 3.70 because that will provide the best value for most players. As a F2P player, I've used the previous 4 coaches on 2 heroes from 3.70 and 2 from 4.80. But I will be using the fifth coach on a hero that is already 4.85. Although I have a couple of toons approaching 3.70, I just don't think they're worth 2LB these days. It's better to do one of my glass heroes or costumed season 5s from 4.85 because they are still worth 2LB (to me). Coaching from 1-1 should only be considered by big spenders.
SnowRaven
I voted 1-1 because I generally prefer to use feeders and mats on newer heroes who are not eligible for the hero coach. Exception: Heroes with costumes. In this case I level up the costume first, and as far as it gets. If there's enough time until the hero coach comes around, I level up and ascend the base hero after that, then work with the costume again. Especially effective for classic heroes, when I have 4 or 5 costumes to work on.

I never have enough gems to spend on Outfitter and on roster expansion and occasional 10-pulls (usually in costume chamber) and on 1-1 coaching. Ruskin505
I’ve done 1/1, 3/70, 4/80, and even 4/85 I believe. It’s mostly about who was the best choice and I accepted the cost. With timing well known nowadays I can better prepare for 3/70 where a good amount of the cost is mitigated while saving feeders.
Gargon
I have done all the options, except 1-1 so far. In a perfect world I think 3-70 (or maybe 3-50) is what I would go for, but the level is less important than finding the right hero. Also it depends on color aether availability. Anyway last time I had a Hathor at 85, so I maxed her out as she was the only hero in the mix that actually sees action in wars. So wasting some free 5star aethers was still better than maxing sme niche hero I play twice a year. This time I´ll have tons of options. Pepperflame at 4-80 (for titans), copy of Cupido at 1-1 (and no time to work on him any time soon, so he might be my first 1-1). Or as always like half of my titan heroes... We´ll see.
Spinach Posted yesterday at 12:00 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:00 AM I generally don't plan and get caught by surprise 1 week before the coach shows up I then choose who to level and frantically get them as high as possible in a few days, lol. I think the only one I've done from 1/1 is Brimstone and that turned out well because he's great, even better than I expected (I have strong red attack heroes) but I can easily spend a few hundred gems. FTP, gem stash usually hovers around 1-2k.
