Sounds like me 
My first HOTM was Bertila and I was flashed as hell 
I still play her on W3K or alliance wars.
Like her I also use C-Alasie (very often), Grace, Gregorion (blue titans, tower events), Frida (red titans) R&N and Mene (alliance wars, PVP).
From my unleveled list will join (if time is given): May, Zidane, Dvalin, Eldwren
For me, most HOTM are usable or even good. Ans if one has no impact for me (like Gilda), it's useful for other players. It all depends on the personal roster - ok, and some are really crappy
